Day 47

Today my mom and I went to the Bodies Exhibit. It was so cool! My favorite part was seeing every tiny blood vessel and huge artery throughout the entire body...

Day 45

Today was spent trying to keep these two apart... they are just play fighting but Ollie doesn't know when to stop and Bowie has very sharp claws.

Day 44

Lots of babies wandering around lately! So precious

Day 43

I got home and finally got to meet Oliver!!

Day 42

We flew out on Friday night. We arrived in Amsterdam on Saturday morning and had an 8 hour layover until our flight to ATL, so we decided to venture out and go to the Anne Frank house. As bad a reputation as Amsterdam has, it certainly was a beautiful city.

Day 41

On Friday I almost got attacked by a giraffe! Not really, but we did get to feed them at the giraffe park.

Day 40

On Thursday we saw elephants!

Day 39

I spent the majority of Wednesday on the Lamborghini aka the bus. I got really sick and had to take a medicine that totally wiped me out. I threw up and slept almost all day.

Day 38

On Tuesday we built a wall to divert water so the children can walk to school. The ladies job most of the time was to carry bags of gravel to mix into the cement about 1/4 of a mile to the work site. Along the way we saw all kinds of little baby kittens and puppies and lambs and little goats.

Day 37

On Saturday I met this cute little girl named Katunga... or her christian name: Teresa. I saw her again at church on Sunday. Then on Monday at school she came running up to me as soon as I got off the bus. She was glued to my side the entire week.

Day 36

On Sunday we separated into 3 churches. Then in the afternoon we came back together at the main church and taught some bible stories on a flannel graph board.

Day 35

Saturday was our first day in the Mwanyani Primary school. The children ran to greet us making it almost impossible to get off the bus because they were all rushing the door trying to grab someone's hand.

Day 34

We arrived in Kenya. This is where we stayed the first night. Unfortunately we couldn't get the lights to turn off in our room so we had to sleep with eye masks on... so Africa.

Day 33

My mom picked up the new puppy, Oliver, on the day I left

Day 25

I forgot to put up a picture of what Meg did for my sister's graduation present

Valerie took this picture in Kenya two years ago and has always wanted someone to draw it for her. So I got my awesome and amazingly talented friend Meg Barker to do just that. Here is the end result next to the original.
